TMK 2011, the mixtape

Been workin' on a mix CD for the team. I think it's almost done.

So I got with a sick-ass clique and went all out...

The Mastermix

I know, I know, it's been a while since I've posted a proper blog. I have so many stories to tell about USA Crits, broken wrists, Belgian beers, and stressful tears. But as usual, there's too much going on to stop and talk about it for more than 140 characters at a time on Twitter. You know the story.
I was thinking, though, while training today, how much I wish I could broadcast what I'm listening to on my rides. I need an app that sends each song that comes up in the shuffle to Twitter.

Urban Safari

Beginning in June 2010, a storefront in Coolidge Corner, Brookline, and in Dudley Square, Roxbury will be transformed into large video screens, providing pedestrians of each neighborhood with a portal into one another's worlds. Running 24/7, life-size screen images and AV technology will enable real-time communication between residents of the two neighborhoods.

Every Day Is Like Sunday

Saturday, May 15th, is International Fluevog Day:

Since it's a Saturday, I'm home, and there's no race, I'm tempted to go down to Newbury Street and, GASP! - go shopping. On a weekend no less. I've been eyeing the vegan Radio CBC's online for a while:

More mix tapes

I know they're mix CDs, but it's vestigial. It just doesn't sound as good or feel as natural as "mix tapes."

Anyway, Janice got a new CD today. Number 27:

Homecoming

1. Today I Met The Girl I'm Going To Marry - The Nation Of Ulysses

2. Hole In My LIfe - The Police

3. Red River - Rocky Votolato

4. You're the One That I Want - John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John

5. I'll Be Gone - Dwight Yoakam

6. Mercy, Mercy - Don Covay

7. Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers

One Day Classic

NYC, here we come:

Why Cycle-Smart will never take over the world.

I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that.

And that's why I started Cycle-Smart. It's my kickboxing. Sport of the future.

Adam Myerson Post Race Granogue

Thanks to Colt for the interview. He doesn't say much but he asks just the right questions to get you talking. Not as if that's hard to do with me, but still...

Ghost stories

For those of you who remember, I just got a huge wave of nostalgia for Turtles and Metals.

Amidst the misery of the '80's, there was a lot of joy at those spots. Watching Ram flip a 36-inch skateboard like it was 2/3rd the size over the banks at Turtles is still, in my mind, the defining aspect of that period. Although, there's a picture of Fred Smith stand-up grinding the lip of the C-Pool that always blew me away, too. I only ever got to skate that once, since it was always full of water when we'd show up. I need to find that photo.
