Cycle-Smart "Indoor Group Rides"
at International Bicycle Center

Featuring Cycle-Smart coaches Adam Hodges Myerson and Johs Huseby
Wednesday nights in January, February, and March, 7-9 PM
At International Bicycle Center, 89 Brighton Ave, Boston, MA.

The days may be mean and short right now, but that's no reason to suffer the drudgery of indoor training alone in front of that Tour tape you've seen 50 times already.

Come join Cycle-Smart coaches and other Boston-area cyclists at International Bicycle Center for our indoor group rides this winter instead!

Cycle-Smart president Adam Hodges Myerson and coach Johs Huseby will be leading the group through 2-hour trainer workouts focused on building base and threshold power through the winter. This is no spin class, but a genuine group interval session, where we can offer each other support, motivation, and coaching. The sessions are also great opportunity to learn the basics of training with power, whether you have a powermeter or not. We'll do some testing sessions some weeks as well, to help set training levels for people with powermeters and heart rate monitors. Coaches will be available to answer questions and provide one-on-one time with participants. We'll have plenty of fans, and music.

Participants should bring their own trainers, trainer mat, and riser block. For those in need of those items, International is offering an incredible discount on CycleOps trainers, mats, and riser blocks to ride participants, as well as discount cards to be used store-wide.

  • Cyclops Mag Trainer $105.00
  • Cyclops Fluid Trainer $212.00
  • Riser Block $11.00
  • Trainer Mat $32.00
  • Cyclops Bike Thong $12.00

IBC will provide (1) demo Fluid trainer, (1) demo Mag trainer and (1) demo PowerTap unit for those who want to try training with power. If you want to demo the PowerTap, please contact Craig at IBC ahead of time to reserve it, and be sure to arrive early enough to have it installed on your bike.

Remember that a trainer mat of some kind is required!

International is also happy to store participants' trainers and bicycles for those who want to leave them there during the week.

Pricing is $15/session drop-in, or $150 for all 12 sessions up front. We'll start on January 12th and go every Wednesday until March 30th. Space is limited to approximately 25 participants.

IBC is located at 89 Brighton Ave in Boston. Directions here:

There is limited parking around the back of the building, accessible from the side street.

Our workout schedule will generally follow the following schedule:
